contents of subdirectory "examples" July 27, 2004 This contains a number of input files for vamp (.in) and output (.midi) files. "petronella" and "popgoestheweasel" are the input files discussed in "vamp_intro.html". The file demo2.html discusses the files used for the second demo CD (June-July 2004) with links to the .midi and .in files. The file demo1.html discusses the files used for the first demo CD (October 2003) with links to the .midi and .in files. Note that the .in files for specific tunes use included files [e.g. "@accent_vel.in" and "@vamp.ACDG" ] to specify hypermeter and vamp patterns for chords. in_tar.gz is a gzipped tar file of all the input files. midi_tar.gz is a gzipped tar file of all of the midi files. The corresponding files for Windows are in.zip and midi.zip. ================================== It is believed that all melodies in these files are public domain (traditional or derived from Ryan's Mammoth collection, 1882). If anyone has information to the contrary, please inform me so that they can be properly attributed or removed. There may be some chord sequences taken from The Fiddler's Fakebook for the purpose of evaluating the chord assignment algorithms. The chords used in the .midi files were generated by vamp, using the "harmony" command and may have been edited slightly in a few cases.
