We have deleted our fiddle patch, but retained the patch manipulating code for the curious or interested. ---------------------- January 25, 2004: A number of orchestral instrument samples are available (in .aiff format) from Univ. of Iowa, Electronic Music Center theremin.music.uiowa.edu/mis.html Text of their web site says to use anyway you want for your music projects, but would like feedback as to how stuff was used... (Composition, ..., recreation, etc.) Intend to try to make GUS patch or soundfont of violin, flute, (piano)... If it works better than existing patches, approach them about WOL or CC (of some flavor) to distribute and/or make available. Have exchanged e-mails with Lawrence Fritts of the Electronic Music Center and he is agreeable to this. He would like web references or other acknowledgement of the use of the samples so that he can use that information in the pursuit of funding. Attack has been artificially modified to rise from 0 to 70% of final amplitude in 30 milliseconds in order to play 1/16 notes at 120 quarter notes/min. The patch is copyrighted and licensed under the Creative Commons Sampling plus License.
